EDINE

EDINE stands for ‘Electronic Data Interchange in the Netherlands Energy Sector’.

Electronic data interchange

In the liberalised energy market, the various parties must exchange large amounts of information with one another on a daily basis.Every day, market parties exchange EDINE messages stating their energy production, consumption and trade, as well as measurement data and other information. These messages must meet certain electronic message standards defined on the basis of EDIFACT.

Testing

DTe, the Office of Energy Regulation, has made the testing of EDINE messages compulsory. Each party must be certified by means of testing before it is allowed to take part in the message traffic.

EDINE releases and converter

The EDINE release calendar indicates when new and/or altered EDINE messages must be implemented. The EDINE converter is a tool that market parties can use to convert message types to the EDINE format.
