Mr Fokko van Duyne (1942) joined TenneT’s Supervisory Board on 26 October 2001. His second term of office ends on 26 October 2009.

Since October 2005 Mr Van Duyne, at the request of Minister of Economic Affairs Mr Brinkhorst, has been leading a consortium of nine large industrial enterprises wishing to conclude joint long‑term contracts for the procurement of energy.

Career

After studying economics at the Netherlands School for Economics in Rotterdam, Mr Van Duyne joined the Hoogovens corporation in 1970. He worked in the United States in several positions including as a controller and as Head of Human Resources at Envirotech. In 1981, he was appointed Director of Financial and Economic Affairs at Alumined Beheer, where he took over as Managing Director in 1983. 

Having joined the Hoogovens Board of Management in 1987, Mr Van Duyne went on to preside over this Board from 1998 onwards, as well as holding the position of Joint Chief Executive Officer at Corus Group PLC and having seats on the Board of Management and the Executive Committee of ICC Netherlands. In addition, he was a member of the Board of Management of the FME‑CWM Association (the trade organisation for the technological‑industrial sector), of the Executive Committee and Board of Management of VNO‑NCW (the Confederation of Netherlands Industries and Employers), of the Supervisory Boards of Holding Grabowsky & Poort B.V. and Cap Gemini N.V., and of the Advisory Council of ING Groep N.V.
