Corporate governance
Good entrepreneurship means that the management of an organisation acts in an honest and transparent manner, is properly supervised and renders account for its actions. As a result, the stakeholders will have confidence in the management and in how it is supervised.
Corporate Governance Code
The Dutch Corporate Governance Code was drawn up by the so‑called Tabaksblat committee and definitively adopted on 9 December 2003. It contains principles and best‑practice provisions which can be regarded as modern, by now widely accepted, general views on good corporate governance. In Dutch society the code is used as a guideline for good entrepreneurship.
Role in society
TenneT attaches great value to the principles of good governance and responsible entrepreneurship. This fits in well with the role that TenneT fulfils in society by carrying out its (statutory) tasks. TenneT aims for an open, transparent structure whereby quality and integrity are of the utmost importance.
TenneT therefore supports the Dutch Corporate Governance Code and complies with the principles and best‑practice provisions contained in the code. In our annual report we give an account of the way in which we apply the code. TenneT's shareholder, the State of the Netherlands, supports the way in which TenneT applies the code.
