Figures on electricity consumption

Around the twentieth of each month, TenneT publishes up-to-date figures on the consumption, production, import and export of electricity in the Netherlands on its website. By making this data available to the public, the Dutch electricity transmission operator aims to create more transparency regarding developments in the electricity market. The figures are presented in the form of three graphs. The first graph shows the electricity consumption in terawatt-hours (TWh) per month, The figures will be presented as rolling annual totals. This means that in each month, the total of the month concerned is presented together with the total consumption in the eleven preceding months. A graph showing the relative difference in consumption compared to the same month in the previous year has also been produced. A positive figure indicates that consumption has increased compared to the previous year, while a negative figure indicates that consumption has decreased. Consumption levels can be affected by the number of working days in a particular month and specific weather conditions.
