Grid operators

Supply of and demand for electricity are balanced via the electricity grid. TenneT is the manager of the 110 kV-, 150 kV-, 220 kV- and the 380 kV grid. TenneT has been appointed as the Transmission System Operator (TSO) by the Office of Energy Regulation. The regional grid operators construct and maintain connections for customers and carry out the transmission of electricity (at voltage levels of 150 kV or less). They also install, maintain and manage the transmission and distribution grids to ensure that energy suppliers can always meet the ever‑changing energy needs. Regional grid operators are impartial, so they can guarantee non‑discriminatory access to third parties.

More information about the grid operators and their tasks, see the website of Office of Energy Regulation.
