Below ground cable between Voorburg and Ypenburg
TenneT is planning to construct a new 150-kV link between Voorburg and Ypenburg. This new below ground cable is needed to realise a further expansion of the high-voltage grid in the region, and is part of the grid expansion TenneT is planning to complete in the The Hague region.
The new cable link will be constructed between the existing high-voltage substations at Voorburg and Ypenburg and will cover a distance of approximately 20 kilometres. This high-voltage connection is scheduled for commission at the end of 2009/early 2010.
Local residents, land owners and users may be affected by the installation of this cable during the months to come.
Route of the cable
The route of the new link will lead from the existing TenneT high-voltage substation, along the A12 motorway. The cable will pass Hoekwaterstraat, Fransstraat and Van Zegwaardstraat. The new cable will further run along Van Leijdenstraat and Koningin Wilhelminalaan, towards Ypenburg.
As little nuisance as possible
TenneT is aware of the possible nuisance this may cause and wants to involve residents in the process in a timely manner. We will be making use of local knowledge and experience during the installation process, so that we can take the various interests into account wherever possible. Throughout the process we will collaborate closely with all the parties involved, including the municipality and land owners.
