Connections to 110 kV and 150 kV grids to be managed by TenneT
Pursuant to the Independent Grid Administration Act, responsibility for all high voltage grids with a voltage level of 110 kV or more will be transferred to TenneT with effect from 1 January 2008. Customers with a connection to the 110 kV or 150 kV grid will become customers of TenneT for the regulated component of their connection. Grids with voltage levels below 110 kV will continue to be managed by the relevant regional grid operator. In this new situation, it is therefore possible for customers to have a connection agreement with TenneT and with a regional grid operator.
TenneT will contact its new customers to explain in detail what changes they can expect, and how their current connection to the regulated grid will be converted into an agreement with TenneT. The current tariffs for 2007 will remain in effect until the Office of Energy Regulation (DTe) announces new tariffs. According to our current information, this will happen in April 2009. This date was confirmed by the Minister of Economic Affairs in late November 2007.
The reliability of energy supplies to customers will remain paramount throughout the transition process. TenneT will exert every effort to carry out the transition in an efficient and careful manner.
