Cable installation

The cable installation vessel CS Skagerrak uses a robot to install the NorNed cable. This ROV (remotely operated vehicle) comes equipped with an underwater camera and grabs. It can help find previously installed sections of the cable, which is useful when two sections of the cable have to be joined. Furthermore, the robot is a practical tool for finding or removing obstacles or for crossing cables with other cables installed on the seabed.
