NorNed cable briefly out of operation

06-06-2008 <leeg>06-06-2008 The NorNed cable will be briefly taken out of operation for maintenance activities from midnight on Monday 9th June 2008 to 06.00 am on Tuesday 10th June 2008. This period will be used to take some measurements and carry out some checks in Feda (Norway).  Safety precautions in place mean the cable can’t be used for the import or export of electricity during this period.

Plus the available capacity will be reduced to 600 megawatt instead of 700 megawatt for one hour before and after the maintenance period.  This limitation will not affect the NorNed cable transport capacity which has already been released.  The cable has been operational since Tuesday 6th May 2008.
