Living near high-voltage lines

A public debate has arisen in recent years about living in the immediate proximity of existing high-voltage lines. TenneT has sought concrete solutions in order to increase acceptance and improve living quality. In early June 2011, the Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation and the Lower House of Parliament expressed support for these plans.
Possible solutions
The solution options proposed by TenneT are also supported by the Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. In a debate on 9 June 2011, it turned out that the solutions were also broadly supported in the Lower House of Parliament. The solution options are currently being worked out in detail. More information will become available in 2012, when the Minister will send a letter to the Lower House describing the proposed solution options.
