Wateringen
Due to the increasing demand for electricity in the region, the increasing demand for transportation of electricity, the overloading of the existing 150 kV grid in the region and the reliable power supply, it is required to construct a new switch and transformer station at the Wateringse Veld location.
The Wateringen station will be built at the Laan van Wateringseveld near the connection to the N211. The first activities will take place in the beginning of 2008. These works will include the arrangement of the site respectively clearing of the land.
Planning
The rest of the construction process will in general be as follows:
- Start of the preparations regarding the high-voltage lines - October 2008:
- Start construction works - January 2009
- Start installation components - May 2009
- Start test works - January 2010
- Commissioning of the station - Mid 2010
In june 2008, the De Vijvers residents’ association, national grid operator TenneT and the municipality of The Hague have agreed several modifications to the original plan for the new high-voltage substation to be built near the Wateringse Veld residential district in The Hague. Full story.
