Questions & answers on flow-based market coupling
After the publication of the CWE Enhanced FBMC Feasibility Report and the CWE technical Forum held on the 1ste June in Amsterdam, several questions on the Flow Based methodology have reached the CWE  project partners. These questions are answered in detail in this document in order to make the Flow Based methodology more clear and understandable.

Pentalateral Energy forum 22 March 2011
The Feasiblity report for the flow based market coupling report has been presented to the Pentalateral Energy forum on the 22nd  of March by the CWE partners. This report marks the start of the initiation phase for the next step in the market coupling in the CWE region. The report and a presenatation on this report are available as a download.

CWE market coupling final design (January 2010)
The TSOs involved in the CWE MC project have submitted a dossier to their supervisory authorities in which the final design of the CWE market coupling is described in detail. This dossier has been sent to the supervisory authorities in order to provide them with information as a means of support for the formal approval process. In the Netherlands, this approval process started already in September when an amendment proposal of the technical codes was drawn up. The approval process will begin shortly in the other CWE countries. The annexes to the report have been made available to the public in advance of the actual report and contain no content-related changes.

Addendum to the Implementation Study regarding the CWE market coupling addressed to the Pentalateral Energy Forum (December 2008)
In November 2008, the partners of the CWE MC project drew up an addendum to the Implementation Study addressed to the Pentalateral Energy Forum.

This document is a supplement to the description of the design of the market coupling solution which was proposed in the Implementation Study published on 1 October.

The addendum contains:

The project partners are currently organising the necessary steps for starting the implementation phase. The first aim is to launch an ATC-based market coupling for the CWE region as soon as possible. The ultimate aim is still a flow-based market coupling. Following a period in which simulations in flow-based coupling are run in parallel to the coupling currently in operation, there will be a consultation before the switch to flow-based coupling.

You will find the addendum to the Implementation Study and its annex below, as well as the presentation of the addendum to the Pentalateral Energy Forum on 26 November 2008.

As part of the CWE MC project, there is a document called ‘common communication addressed to the Support Group 1 of the Pentalateral Energy Forum’, in which the plans have been finalised and explained in more detail.

Implementation Study complete (August 2008)
The partners of the CWE MC project completed the Implementation Study in August 2008. As such, the design phase is now complete. The following documents contain information pertaining to the design phase:
