Increasing northern grid

The north is the scene of many developments, such as the construction of new power plants in the Eemshaven area and an increase of sustainable energy production. The transmission of this generated electricity requires an expansion of the high-voltage grid.

That is why preparations are underway for a new 380-kV connection from Eemshaven to Diemen, via Ens. In other words: from north to west.The construction of the connection will take about seven years and is expected to be completed in 2016. Together with TenneT and the central government, the provincial authorities prepare for the relevant planning procedures.
