Connection services
The energy sector is undergoing major changes. In 2006 and 2007, numerous parties have registered with TenneT for the connection of new power plants to the 380 kV-grid in the Netherlands. An increasing number of small-scale regional initiatives are also being developed. These include combined heat and power (CHP) plants, wind farms and biomass fermentation plants.
Whether directly or indirectly, all these producers require more capacity from the national transmission grid than is currently available. Solutions are required, particularly for the north of the Netherlands, the Westland region and the province of Zuid-Holland.
How is TenneT dealing with these issues? How can TenneT tailor its connection policy to meet the various challenges? What are the expectations for the (near) future? What role will congestion management play? On this page, you can read about the current state of affairs and the various solutions being proposed for the short and medium term.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the TenneT Service Centre at +31 (0)26 373 1717 or e-mail us at servicecentrum@tennet.org.
