Safely available import capacity
The table entitled ‘Safely available import capacity’ shows the calculated capacity for import across the Dutch borders that can be made safely available, as well as the safely available import capacity agreed with foreign TSOs.
Explanation
The data are calculated per hour for each scenario and expressed in megawatts (MW). The following scenarios can be distinguished:
- Grid fully available
o Imports entirely from Germany
o Imports entirely from Belgium
o Imports entirely from Belgium and Germany - Planned unavailability (Planned Outages) within the Dutch grid
o Imports entirely from Germany
o Imports entirely from Belgium
o Imports entirely from Belgium and Germany
NTC: Net Transfer Capacity (value 9999: calculation failed)
TRM: Transmission Reliability Margin
ATC: Available Transmission Capacity
How to use this page
When you access this web page, you will see an overview of the data for the next day, or for the next day plus one if you access the page after 3.00 p.m. You cannot view data from the past. This web page is published every day at 3.00 p.m. and may be updated at any time between 3.00 p.m. and 8.00 a.m.
Further information
The table entitled ‘30-day-ahead market’ contains data on the 30-day-ahead market and provides an estimate of the minimum capacity available for spot transmission runs per hour and per direction for each foreign TSO. The table covers the indicated 30-day period.

Origin of data
Every day, TenneT receives transmission forecasts from the parties connected to its grid. These forecasts enable TenneT to make operational preparations. The forecasts contain information concerning the expected load and power generation for the next day. The data are entered in a grid model, together with details of the grid’s latest configuration, to enable the performance of safety calculations for the Dutch high-voltage grid (> 110 kV).
TenneT also has access to the grid models of all the TSOs that cooperate in the UCTE system. These are updated on a daily basis with the latest load and generation data and the grid’s latest configuration. The grid models are used to forecast cross-border transmissions, which are incorporated into the ‘Day Ahead Congestion Forecast’.
