TenneT seeks to ensure optimum service provision in support of a properly functioning electricity market in the Netherlands and in Northwestern Europe, and as such devotes continuous attention to the strengthening of the Dutch electricity market within a European perspective.
In its capacity of Transmission System Operator and administrator of the national high-voltage grid, TenneT is in charge of the ‘highways’ of the Dutch electricity grid, which interconnects all regional grids and the European grid. Besides managing the grid, we also monitor the reliability and continuity of the electricity supply in the Netherlands.
